Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper
Melody is eleven years old, loves to read, and has a photographic memory, but she has never spoken a word. Ever. She has celebral palsy. That means that as hard as she tries, she cannot control her body well. She goes to a school for regular kids and special needs kids. One day she and her class get too go to class with everone else. Then a stunning discovery leads to Melody finally being able to speak her mind. I like this book because most people really don't think about what kids like Meloy feel, and this lets us in on what they might think and feel. I recomend this book to second grade and up.
